David Trinkle, C.P.A., MBA – Consulting CFO

As an experienced financial executive over the past 20+ years, David has worked in partnership with business owners and CEOs, assisting them in achieving their business and personal goals. He was a Los Angeles Business Journal “CFO of the Year” Finalist in 2010, and has worked with business units ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to large corporate entities, and non-profits.

David has a proven track record of taking financially underperforming companies and improving their strategies and processes, turning them into thriving, profitable organizations, often positioning them for a potential sale in the future. He is known for his ability to use both his operational and financial experience, recognizing the key changes needed in an organization, and leading and implementing the right change, at the right time. David also has M&A experience having been CFO from both the “buy” side and “sell” side of transactions.

David has extensive experience in strategic planning, business forecasting, process improvement, new product development, change management, identifying and developing talent in the finance, information technology, and human resources departments. He has an adaptable management style that allows for managing, motivating, and guiding individuals at all levels of the organization, from the boardroom to the mailroom.  David began his career with Coopers & Lybrand in public accounting and went on to work for Rainbird Corporate Services Inc, and M&M Mars, Inc in senior financial and business planning roles, increasing his breadth of experience and responsibilities.  Following his experience at M&M Mars, he has served in roles such as Senior Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer for the following companies:  Golden Eagle Express Inc., Two Chefs On A Roll Inc., Dreamgirl International Inc., Manhattan Beachwear Inc. and TRL Systems, Inc.

Currently, David is providing CFO & advisory services to private business owners and assisting them to achieve their personal and company goals.  He has helped clients in many different industries by assisting them with his experience and expertise in the following areas:

David is also a strategic advisor serving on the Advisory Boards of Coast Packing Company, a food industry provider of shortenings and beef tallow, Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center, a med spa, anti-aging/wellness company, and also Ezer, Inc. which provides same day, on-demand, local deliveries for B2B and B2C.

David earned his BS in accounting from California Polytechnic University, Pomona and later added his MBA with an emphasis in marketing from the same school. David is a California CPA, a member of the American Institute of CPA’S (AICPA), California Society of CPA’s, and Financial Executives International (FEI).

David’s academic experience has continued as an instructor for both University of Phoenix and California State University Long Beach where he has taught undergraduate and graduate level classes in accounting and finance.  David has also helped to develop curriculum for the Continuing Education Department at CSULB and has been a guest lecturer in their certificate programs.

When he is not working or teaching, David enjoys golf, tennis and flying.  He holds a Commercial pilots license with an instrument rating, and when time allows, his flying adventures take him to new places, often with a nearby golf course!
